THE PETREL STATION TOUR REPORT

Had a great day on the last winter seabird tour for 2025 out to The Petrel Station, offshore from Tutukaka (in Northland, New Zealand).

During the tour we recorded 16 different seabird species, including 6 species of albatross, and enjoyed watching just over 10,000 stunning seabirds in total. Conditions on the day were mostly fine, with 5-8 knot winds and a 1m swell. See below for the full list of seabirds recorded on the tour.

It's now only 4 weeks until the spectacle that is The Petrel Station's SPRING SEASON TOURS begins with it's huge seabird workups and rich diversity of seabird species, so if you’re interested in joining us for some unique spring seabird action then check out the upcoming seabird tour dates and get in touch – it’s always a great day out.
